
Our Founder and Managing Director Viwe Potelwa was invited by the University of Johannesburg Library to give a seminar on financial literacy to the students of UJ. It was a fruitful engagement which was enjoyed by students and educators alike. The attendees received a copy of the FinSavvy Book after the seminar and also got to ask Viwe some questions regarding his talk on finances.
Our Founder and Managing Director Viwe Potelwa was invited by MSC Business College in East London to give a virtual seminar on financial literacy to the students of MSC Business College. It was a fruitful engagement which was enjoyed by students and educators alike.
On the 2nd of August 2023 our founder Viwe Potelwa joined the Curro Rivonia LearnerX conference to talk about Financial Literacy with students aged between 13 and 18. The talk was interactive and gave the students the opportunity to engage on topics such as Taxation, Credit and Investment. Thanks so much to the team at Curro for facilitating this conference it's giving us hope that kids of tomorrow are being given the necessary tools for the future.
On Friday the 25th of August 2023 our founder went to TA Academy to talk to their students about Financial Literacy and after his speech the students presented business plans that they had put together in groups so that Viwe could go through them and provide feedback. Each group's plan was in a different industry which showed their creativity and the groups even assigned members specific roles in the company to show that they know the different roles in a company. The whole day was eye opening and we are so proud to have engaged with young people who have so much drive and potential.
FinSavvy was invited by the organizers of the Umtiza Festival in East London on the 23rd of May 2022 to present FinSavvy’s book, “The Basics of Taxation for The Youth and Adults” alongside Ayabonga Cawe who was presenting his own book. It was a fruitful engagement on both topics of each book.
FinSavvy worked together with the Beauty I Own Foundation to deliver books to Brixton Primary School to continue on the path of placing financial literacy content in institutions of learning for the benefit of the youth. Learners received toiletry packages from the Beauty I Own Foundation as well as the FinSavvy Book.
FinSavvy delivered the first batch of books to Witkoppen Primary School to begin our mission of placing financial literacy content in institutions of learning for the benefit of the youth.
